Snapchat is a mobile app that allows users to capture videos and pictures that self-destruct after a few seconds. It is both a messaging platform and a social network.
Are you wondering why you would want to use Snapchat to promote your real estate business? It can help you share listings, promote open house events, and boost your brand visibility.
Set Up Your Account
Open the app and tap “Sign Up.”
Enter Your Name
Type your first and last name in the space provided.
Tap “Sign Up & Accept.”
Enter Your Birthday
You must be 13 years or older.
Pick a Username
Your username is your “Snapchat ID” that other users need to look up in order to add you. Your username cannot be changed, so choose carefully. You will be able to choose a display name later (the name your friends will see), and it can be changed as often as you want.
Enter Your Email
Your email address is used to verify changes that you make to your account. Snapchat will send you a verification email; check your email and follow instructions.
Set a Password
Your password will need to be at least eight characters.
Enter a Phone Number
Be sure to enter the number associated with the device on which Snapchat is installed. Once you enter your phone number, you will receive a confirmation code that you need to enter to prove you are human. Note: If you use your phone number to create an account, it notifies any of your contacts who also use Snapchat.
Snapchat can scan your contacts list for other people using Snapchat. To add them as friends, simply tap on the plus icon to the right of the screen. Once they accept your friend request, you will be able to exchange pictures and videos. You can skip this by tapping “Not Allow” after tapping “Continue.” If you want to add a friend who is not in your phone contacts, you will have to search for them manually. Do this by tapping on the search icon in the top right of the “Add Friends” screen and searching their Snapchat username.
You are ready to start using Snapchat! Happy Snapping!
